“I am drawn to the space where psychotherapy, creativity and spirituality intersect.”
About me
I found my way to art therapy and mental health through an interest in holistic healing and alternative medicine. Clinical Art Therapy is essentially the use of art and imagery in the therapeutic process. Most clients find this to be a valuable addition to traditional talk therapy as it enriches the experience and can communicate and express things that words often cannot.
I completed my Master of Arts degree in Marital and Family Therapy with a specialization in Clinical Art Therapy from Loyola Marymount University in 2002. I am a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Registered Art Therapist (ATR). During my career I have worked in a wide range of settings with a diverse group of colleagues and clients. My resume includes work at the LA LGBT Center, Gay and Lesbian Adolescent Social Services, a Partial Hospitalization Program for chronic mental illness, Didi Hirsch Child and Family Division and private practice since 2015. I have also provided clinical and art supervision to therapists in training to receive licensure.
There are a few basic tenants that are fundamental to my work with clients. To be a source of hope when it seems everything is hopeless. To help you and guide you in learning to help yourself. To challenge thought patterns and core beliefs that are blocking your full potential and are no longer serving you. And to support you in making the changes you want to see in yourself and your life.
